Disclaimer
Court Ready Dad is an organizational tool and is not a law firm. Nothing on this site or inside the PDF constitutes legal advice, and using our product does not create an attorney-client relationship. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal data collected through the website and checkout. It does not describe what you type inside the PDF on your own device: that file stays on your computer and is never uploaded to us.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Court Ready Dad ("we", "us", "our") collects when you visit courtreadydad.com or purchase our fillable PDF, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. By using the site or buying the product you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who is the controller
The controller of your personal data is Court Ready Dad, operator of courtreadydad.com. We are a small independent publisher of a digital documentation product. For privacy questions, data subject requests, or a copy of our registered mailing address, contact support@courtreadydad.com and we will respond within 30 days.
2. Information we collect
- Order data - name, email address, billing country and postal code, and the order details you submit at checkout.
- Payment data - card details are entered directly in the checkout provider's secure fields and are never stored on our servers. We receive only a transaction reference, the card brand, and the last four digits.
- Delivery data - the email address the download link and receipt are sent to.
- Site usage - standard server logs (IP address, user agent, referring page, timestamps) and cookies used for security, cart persistence, and, with your consent where required, aggregate analytics.
- Support correspondence - if you email us, we retain the message and your address to reply and keep a record.
3. How we use it
- Deliver the digital product you purchased and provide customer support.
- Send transactional emails: order confirmation, download link, receipt, and refund confirmations.
- Detect fraud, secure the site, and comply with tax and accounting obligations.
- Improve the website. We do not add you to marketing lists without your explicit opt-in.
Legal bases (GDPR): performance of the contract for order fulfilment and delivery; legitimate interest for security and fraud prevention; legal obligation for tax records; consent for analytics and marketing where required.
4. Service providers we share data with
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share the minimum necessary data with the following processors, each bound by its own contract and data-protection obligations:
- Shopify Inc. - checkout, order processing, and payment orchestration.
- Email delivery provider - sending transactional emails (download link, receipt) from a Court Ready Dad sender domain.
- Hosting & CDN provider - serving the website and the PDF download reliably and securely.
- Analytics provider - privacy-respecting aggregate analytics, only where consent is given.
We may also disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.
5. International transfers
Our service providers are located primarily in the United States and the European Union. Where personal data is transferred outside your country, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards required by applicable law.
6. Cookies & analytics
See our Cookie Policy. Essential cookies keep the cart and checkout working. Analytics cookies are set only with your consent where required and can be managed in your browser settings.
7. Data retention
- Order and invoice records - retained for at least 7 years to meet accounting and tax obligations.
- Support emails - retained for up to 2 years after the last message, then deleted.
- Server logs - retained for up to 90 days.
- Analytics data - aggregated and retained for up to 14 months.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR, the California CCPA/CPRA, or similar laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to certain uses, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights, email support@courtreadydad.com from the address used for your order. We do not use automated decision-making that produces legal effects on you.
9. Security
We use HTTPS in transit, access controls on our systems, and vetted processors for storage and payments. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; if we ever become aware of a personal-data breach affecting you, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
10. Children
Our product is intended for adults dealing with custody documentation. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced on this page.
12. Contact
